Bruma in the Johannesburg Region of Gauteng, South Africa
Bruma is situated in the Johannesburg region of the Gauteng province in South Africa. Bruma is known for its boating lake, and for its large flea market which sells souvenirs from across Africa. The area surrounding Bruma Lake has been extensively redeveloped in the last few years.

The main shopping centre in Bruma is the Eastgate shopping centre, which is one of the largest shopping centres in Johannesburg. The neighbouring suburb of Bruma is Cyrildene where a small chinatown exists.

Bruma Lake flea market is the result of the successful conversion of an old sewerage catchment area into a awesome lakeside market, mall and commercial parks. With over 620 traders stock a multitude of exciting curios and antiques, from textiles to furniture. Bruma lake is designed to resemble a fisherman's village; the area offers a string of restaurants and shopping venues well patronized by bargain hunters and window shoppers alike.

While the flea market has a host of stalls selling generic goods, there are also fine examples of African carvings, steel and metal work, as well as some great fast food of various nationalities on offer in the complex. African curios, various crafts, funky second-hand clothing and one-off fashions is on offer here.
